Vocational excellence for advanced manufacturing – 18 partners from 7 countries are working towards this common goal in the EU project "AILEEN".

A company's success depends to a large extent on the expertise and experience of its employees. To ensure that innovations from research and development are also implemented in manufacturing, it is essential that employees receive further training throughout their entire working lives.

In the "AILEEN" project, IPH is focusing on civil aviation as well as aerospace technology. In these sectors, highly safety-relevant components are manufactured that have to meet particularly high quality requirements. Specialists are therefore to be trained in advanced manufacturing. This includes innovative welding and soldering processes as well as additive manufacturing.

The project will initially examine the level of knowledge of the workers. Methods for further training will then be developed and tested. Furthermore, the first centres of vocational excellence in the field of advanced manufacturing will be established.
